Tan Wei Ming's Portfolio

Manifested in a unique hexagonal structure, this packaging seeks to stand out amongst other products. Other than being distinctively recognizable and visually appealing, the design is also functional. As its outer surface is made up of triangles, this packaging has the ability to be folded and closed to keep the coffee beans fresh after opening.

This packaging is inspired by the geometrical structure of the Issey Miyake Bilbao bag. The triangles on the bag make it extremely functional as they could be folded in and out to form different base shapes. Hoping to achieve a similar high functionality and versatility, I adopted the use of triangles, but in a hexagonal structure instead for higher space utilization.
